12 - 18 Months

Today we heard disappointing news from the agency. We were told that along with 6 other families, our trip to Korea would be delayed once again. They are saying now we will travel at the end of February!! Our paper work is not being worked on in Korea due to this turn over of staff at the government there. Our trip was supposed to be first week of Jan, then they estimated last week in Jan, and now to get this news is really hard to adjust to. I can't imagine the feelings of the couples who don't have other children to take care of. To be so close to the prize.....Lily turned 9 months on the 26th. We hear she is doing fine.

An hour after the news came, this adorable dress from Tea arrived. Now that she won't be here for another month, it's a good thing I ordered a 12 - 18 month size!

Week 14!!!!

So this week makes 14 weeks since our acceptance papers were sent to Korea. Pretty much everytime the phone rings, we jump! Feb is only 3 days away. Ordered the boy's big brother Ts today and still have to get gifts for the foster family . Other than that, we are ready to jump on a plane.

Historic

On Inauguration Day, I couldn't help but wonder if Lily's foster family was following any of the coverage. Such a monumental event, regardless of what political views you may hold. I just had to get a photo of the boys during the ceremony. Yes, we do live only 15 minutes away from the mall but we chose to watch at home, just a bit too much with the crowds and the waiting for a 3 year old and 7 year old to handle.

No news yet about our travel clearance. No call, no update on Lily, nothing!!! I keep staring at the NVC letter that is dated November 29 of all days. Everything on the US end is complete and now we are waiting for a stamp on a piece of paper sitting on a desk somewhere on the other side of the globe! We were told back when we accepted Hye Won, that we would be traveling around first week of Jan. Then the agency informed us of an employee turnover at the Korean government, of course happening in January. They now estimate our travel for the last week in Jan. I know in the world of adoption, anything can happen and for the most part our process has gone very smoothly. We fortunately have the boys to keep us more than busy. Trusting in the greater plan is quite hard sometimes but I am really trying.

Home Made

My mom knit some adorable sets for Lily. One is a poncho, blanket and hat, one is a sweater coat with a hat and the other is a white sweater, hat and blanket for her baptism. She does such beautiful work, puts her heart and soul into it and I can't wait to see Lily wearing them. I know Rick's grandmother is knitting for her also...she is going to be so spoiled!!! Here's something interesting...Rick's other grandma always knitted blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. After she passed away last year, an extra blanket was found, completed and in pink and white!
